109th Infantry, State Color. Composed entirely of men from Philadelphia, the 109th was formed during the winter of 1861-62 and received the state color on May 7, 1862. In March, 1865, the under-strength 109th was consolidated with the 111th, and was mustered out of service July 19, 1865.
